Afropunk is not just a music festival and a brand I wanted to work with since I moved to Brooklyn in the early 2000s; it's a cultural movement, a celebration of individuality, and a space where creativity knows no bounds. It was born in Brooklyn, NY, but has since evolved into a global event where every year, thousands of people from all walks of life gather to revel in the unique fusion of music, fashion, art, and activism that is Afropunk. In 2023, this iconic festival promised to be even more electrifying, with a lineup that transcended genres and a commitment to showcasing the vibrant and diverse voices of the African diaspora.

For all three festivals, I was brought on to assist with the Art Direction and design execution of digital marketing and social assets. I created the typography and logo lock-ups while adhering to the brand’s guidelines. I also kept them current with the trends by integrating AI into the “Brooklyn Circus of Soul” aesthetic.
